Fall Board

This past weekend was the GFWC Florida's annual Fall Board. The weekend was filled with informational workshops, enjoying time with friends and inspirational speeches. I felt like the speeches this time were so much "deeper" and more entertaining than they had been in the past ~ Leah Turner and Jennifer Lee from Creating Your Masterpiece were great! However the speech given by GFWC Director of Junior Clubs Missi McCoy left me with the best quote of the weekend . . .

“If the first woman God ever made was strong enough to turn the world upside down all alone, these together ought to be able to turn it back and get it right side up again”
~As originally stated by Sojourner Truth at a Women's Convention in Akron, Ohio 1851
What I love most about this quote is that it is as true today as it was over 150 years ago. Let's get together ladies and make a difference!

High Heel Hiking?

This year the GFWC is participating in Jules Burt's High Heel Hike. Yes, you heard right - a HIGH HEEL HIKE! Well, it is technically more of a strut when you are in high heels. It is a 1K walk - Everyone can handle that - even in heels. It is to be held on Saturday, Sept 26th at Westshore plaza! Not only is going to be fun but it is for a great cause. This year the High Heel Hike has teamed with Generation Rescue to benefit autism. Please join us as we support this event! Looking forward to seeing pictures of everyone strutting their stuff. Soon all that will be left are . . The Memories

Looking through pictures can be so much fun. It can really tell a story - a story of how you met that special someone, the day you became husband and wife, or the day you welcomed home your son or daughter. Pictures can capture a moment with friends that otherwise would have only been in our memories - fading with time.

We are so excited to welcome Kurz Studio Photography as one of our vendor partners for the Night of 5000. We are thrilled that they will be there capturing those special moments with our friends out on the town! Thank you for joining us!

Drew and Ellie Kurz started Kurz Studio Photography in 2005. They have a style that is a mix of photojournalism and creative portraiture. Specializing in Wedding and Engagement photography they aim to tell your love story. Love is such a beautiful thing!

MMMM . . . Coffee!

Did you know that Tampa tops the charts as the most caffeinated city in the US? True, according to a new poll.

So, look no further Tampa - the Night of 5000 charity gala has just the thing
for you . . . Cafe Ala Carte!

Using the finest coffee beans, ground right onsite for their espresso and cappuccinos and made by baristas to order, Cafe Ala Carte is sure to please! We wanted to make sure we had something for everyone, right down to that specialty coffee that you love! We are so pleased that Cafe Ala Carte will be joining us for the evening - and giving you that perfect pick me up so that you can dance, and bid, the night away!

Thank you Cafe Ala Carte!
